I have been a massive fan of Dried Figs for almost all of my life The seeds are basically a useful source of fibre. The pulp of the fruit is also an amazing kind of water-soluble fibre. Actually figs are neat if you have constipation.

Because figs come from a tropical climate aflatoxins can be a problem also salmonella can be a possible issue when the figs are coming from athird world or developing country. The best quality figs come from Turkey including the famous Lerida Fig.

Figs are very high in Tryptophan ( 5HTP ) which is believed to help with getting a good night’s sleep. This makes baby figs especially well liked by folks making an attempt to fight insomnia. Dried Figs are also great at helping to chill the mind and body after a busy day at work and theyare even reputed to help in the bed!

I really like to buy my figs generally online because theyare so heavy and you can get some great costs. However , often I buy them from my local whole food shop, but often the quality can be poor. Poor quality baby figs can be really dry and sweet. The sugar appearance is from the fructose and itis very natural. If you want to freshen up the dried figs that have crystallised it is easy - just wash them!

I must admit that I’d be lost without figs. They are so healthful and good for you. Fresh figs naturally are better but dried figs are still packed with nutrients.

I’ve been a runner for years and I’ve been playing with using wholefoods in my diet. Iactually think that dried fruit is one of the best forms of energy for sportsmen. The dried figs are a great slow release energy foods.

Figs are one of the few fruit that may be able to fruit all year around, so theyare great at supporting wild life. The fig tree is a way of locking carbon into the soil. So if you eat baby figs you aren’t only saving yourself but you are saving the planet!
